Elisha Cuthbert Biography |
Born in Calgary, Alberta, Elisha Ann Cuthbert later moved with her family to Longueuil, Quebec, on Montreal’s southern bank. At the age of seven Elisha began modeling, then from 1997 to 2000 she was a correspondent for the informational television series Popular Mechanics for Kids. While continuing with the show, she made several appearances in feature films such as Nico the Unicorn (1998), Airspeed (1998) and Time at the Top (1999), in which she co-starred opposite Timothy Busfield.
In 1999, while still working for Popular Mechanics for Kids, she became a regular on another kids’ series as well, Nickelodeon’s Are You Afraid of the Dark?, playing Megan. She kept up her work in features and TV movies and in 2001, won a Gemini Award for her lead role in the CTV movie Lucky Girl, later shown in the U.S. on the Lifetime network. Soon after she landed the role that would catapult her to fame: playing fellow Canadian Kiefer Sutherland’s daughter Kim in the Fox network series 24. Minor roles in the feature comedies Old School (2003) and Love Actually (2003) were followed by her first starring role in a feature film with The Girl Next Door (2004).
Elisha makes her home in Los Angeles. She was engaged to longtime boyfriend Trace Ayala in 2004, but broke it off in 2005.
